Department of Water Resources offers free workshop
The Department of Water Resources will offer a free septic tank maintenance workshop from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 7. Attendees will learn how a septic system works, how to prevent problems and how to determine when a repair is necessary. Those from unincorporated Gwinnett County, the city of Peachtree Corners or the city of Lilburn can earn a 5 percent credit toward their stormwater utility fee for the following year.
The workshop will be held at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center Auditorium, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville. Pre-registration is required to participate. Lilburn Daze Arts and Crafts festival accepting applications
The Lilburn Daze Arts and Crafts Festival is currently accepting vendor applications and sponsorships. Hosted by the Lilburn Woman’s Club and co-sponsored by the City of Lilburn, the festival is expected to draw 12,000 attendees with over 200 arts and crafts vendors, a variety of food vendors and art activities for kids.
This year’s event will be held on October 11 at Lilburn City Park. The deadline for registration to avoid a late fee is Friday, August 1. For more information, visit www.lilburndaze.org.
Duluth attorneys appointed to state bar YLD Board of Directors
Trinity M. Hundredmark and Matina G. Palatto of Andersen, Tate & Carr P.C. in Duluth have been appointed to serve on the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia as part of the Board of Directors. Hundredmark and Palatto will act as directors of special projects for education and will assist in promoting initiatives set by the YLD president, Sharri Edenfield, focusing on service to military veterans, leadership development in YLD members and finding solutions to access to justice issues.
Hundredmark was appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia to serve as a District 9 chair on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee for the State Bar of Georgia. Palatto is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and has served as executive editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, president of the Health Law Society and vice president of the Student Bar Association.
The YLD has more than 25 committees that produce a variety of projects and programs. It has also gained national recognition by winning several American Bar Association awards for its projects and publications.
