SUGAR HILL -- The city of Sugar Hill is looking for the perfect logo to commemorate its 75th anniversary.
The city announced recently it would hold an open contest for the anniversary design, to be used during next year's celebration (and forever, really) on T-shirts, posters and other official gear. Besides the pride and prestige, the winner will receive $750, official recognition by the city and "a selection of promotional items," a news release said.
Artists may submit up to three entries by the May 17 deadline. All pieces must incorporate Sugar Hill and the number 75, and may also mention: 1939-2014; March 23, 2014; anniversary or diamond anniversary; the city tree; a diamond; and the city seal or its components.
"The competition is open to the general public and all residents, businesses, friends of Sugar Hill, and we encourage students at North Gwinnett and Lanier cluster schools to participate," officials said.
Only original artwork -- including paintings, drawings, photographs and digitally created designs -- will be accepted.
